I love getting the chance to do something a little bit different from my usual soft pastel and pretty flowers for weddings – and when Nicole of Created Lovely Events & Weddings suggested a Nautical Theme I knew exactly what I was going to do. I love anything nautical – crisp white fabrics, linen, stripes (I probably have numerous blue and white striped shirts and dresses), anchors, cute white boat shoes for summer.. etc. I love how dressing with nautical inspiration instantly makes you feel classy and put together.
For the flowers I decided on a simple colour palette of different shades of red, with a hint of variegated monkey grass (greyish green & white striped greenery). I used a simple mix of Garden Roses, Standard Roses, Spray Roses & Tulips – I had also ordered Anemone’s and Ranunculus but unfortunately was not able to get them :(. The result was a classic & pretty take on the simple rose bouquet. I don’t think I will ever do just one variety of roses in a bridal bouquet again! The 3 different rose varieties added a bit of extra texture and interest in the arrangements.
